Checkups.

I had to take both kids to the doctor yesterday for checkups.  Sophie has her 2 month and Garrett his 4 year.  It took about 2 hours and I was wore out!

Garrett weighed 32.25 lbs. (he broke 30lbs.!!!!).  The doctor was really pleased with his height and weight.  He thinks Garrett will be pretty tall considering Brandon is 6 ft. and I'm 5ft. 7in.  He said I'm about 4 inches taller than the average female.  He also had to get 5 shots,  it took 3 of us to hold the little guy down.

Sophie weighed 11lbs. 1oz.  She is in the 50th percentile for weight and head circumference and in the 25th percentile for height.  He was pleased with her progress and how the Zantac is working (stupid reflux).  She had to get two shots and a oral vaccine.

So, needless to say, after all that I had some grumpy kids last night.  Garrett fell asleep at 7:00 and didn't wake up until 7:00 this morning.  His poor legs hurt so bad he could barely walk.

Kids workshop

After Taekwando we headed over to Home Depot for their "Kids Workshop".  This was our first time attending and Garrett had a blast.  Saturday's project was a flower planter.
They gave the kids a really cool Home Depot apron.  Garrett thinks he is now a Home Depot employee.
                                                         Okay...let's get started.

                                                                All finished.
Not only did he get his own apron, he got a certificate of achievement, and a pin to put on his apron.

A surprise test.

Grandma picked up Garrett on Friday for a movie and at the last minute decided she would take him to Taekwando too.  Well, it was a good thing she did because they decided he could test for his yellow belt on Saturday.
                                                                    Come on guys lets go!
                                                           Waiting for testing to begin.
                                                            Warming up.
                                                                Still warming up.

They send the little kids out with a buddy.  Not only were they in front of about 8 judges, they were also in front of about 40 parents.  I would have been nervous as heck!
                                                               Blocks!

Demonstrating how to get away from a stranger.

All done...now we wait and see.

I just had to compare.

I started to update our blog and decided to go back and look at some of the old pictures I had posted. I really wanted to see how much Sophie looked like Garrett.

It's been a long time...

I can't believe I haven't posted on our blog in almost a year! I've been a slacker! It looks like I will be changing our format a little bit, it was all about our G-man. Now we have baby Sophie, so we will add her to the mix as well. I will also be writing about our daily doings, Sophie is growing so fast and Garrett is saying such funny things, if I don't write them down daily I know I will forget them. So for a quick update on our lives...I will quit work in about 3 weeks to stay home full time with the kids. Brandon is still at the fire department and hospital. Sophie is now 2 months old and has a great little personality, she smiles and makes little "cooing" noises. Garrett is busy with tee-ball and taekwando, he is still going to preschool 3 days a week. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with our updates on here!
